Soloman and Connexx is banning ? for "abusing" the flag system. Soloman is telling people to go back and remove flags they made before the IC even had a way for people to know who created the flagged post. (wacc).
The problem with Soloman's position is that you're punishing people for a rule that wasn't broken at the time the initial flagging occurred. This is a clear violation of ex post facto law which we have in the Good Ol' US of A.
Fazeem also uses a silly double standard in his stance on the issue of what is and isn't "abuse" of the Reaction system. His contention is that it is only "abuse" if you're flagging posts but "wacking" and "feelings" aren't considered to be abuse. His reasoning for this is that "Flagging" is a "moderation tool" and the others aren't. The reason why this is faulty logic is because "wack" and "feelings" still have an effect on the board and threads because posts become "buried" due to those two reactions. Fact also is that mods can give up to 5 "wacks" and "feelings" per post and instantly cause a post to be "buried". Fazeem uses these Reactions to do that to posts by posters that disagree with him or he doesn't like. This is clearly "abuse" of the system, but since it is being committed by a mod, he will ignore it and so will the administrators.
Truth is if posters are gonna be banned for abuse of the reaction system, mods should be held even more accountable than regular posters since they have the power to remove the posts instead of handing out negative reactions to posters when they have the ability to dish out 5 times as many reactions as a normal poster does.
