extremely gifted basketball athlete, probably the most GIFTED ever.... when u watch him it all came so natural and smooth to dude, like he was really born to do it....

what hurts me the most is what he could of became if he actually looked at the game with focus and ambition.... he was a tiger on the floor don't get it twisted, but he honestly had no direction or idea of where he wanted to go with it.... all he knew was that all he had to do was have the ball in his hands because he was that gifted and good....

Exactly. All that natural talent and you still can't have anything to show for it in his legacy. This era in the NBA has more hipster/ nerdy players that are just raw talent, but a fraction of the fuckery that went down in the early 00s.

? damn y'all are ? sickening in here..."probably the most gifted ever".

    Jesus Crust.

are u saying him being the most gifted player to ever touch a basketball is far fetched..... a gift is something u never had to work for or earn, your born with it....

u ever saw someone so naturally skilled the first time they touched a basketball that they looked like they've been playing basketball for years ? thats what the people from virginia say about AI....

besides u from england or some ? LoL, fall back from this thread out of respect for true NBA heads....

mike and kobe put in tremendous work to become 30ppg scorers, there is no gift in that just hard work and dedication..... while kobe was practicing footwork and watching film, Iverson was crashing benzes and spending nights in casino's....

what I mean by gifted is he was born with it, no hard work or long days at the gym with the train.... just put on some reebocks a sleeve and go put up 45 points.... after that to the bar until 6am and back at it for another 40 points the next night.... thats gifted, now did he waste it yes but u cant deny it....

now does hard work and dedication beat natural gift/ability in the end yes, but lets keep it a hunnid iverson was a one of a kind gift.....

Mike averaged damn near 30 as a rookie tho.He came in da game dominating based off his natural athletic ability and skills he didn't really start working hard(weightlifting, working on his mid range game)until the bulls kept losing to the pistons.I hear what you sayin tho iverson always been the streets favorite and ? always have had this ridiculous admiration for him cuz of that

Realest NBA player ever everything he said came from the heart and he really did play every game like it was his last.

Why yall think The Lebrons and Durants have to act so nice now with their suits and cardigans and nice interviews and ? ? Its cause the NBA wants them to, they were shook by AI and his realness I mean the man influenced the game so much that those ? had to ban jerseys and baggies. He had the whole league rocking cornrows.

The thing I always admired is how he wasnt afraid of nothing and nobody. Son told Rodman and Jordan in his first game against the Bulls that he dont have to respect nobody then proceeded to shake n bake Jordan into the third row. That game 1 in the finals 01 summed the player AI up perfectly for me cause it was such a David vs Goliath thing. He came there with a bunch of injured roll players and kicked they ? on his own.

Man he was my hero when I was a kid and I'm actually sad that he ? the end of his career up so bad. His ego was too big and he always acted like he would be the 2001 AI for ever, my man just needed to chill with all the shooting and bragging and sit his ass on the bench on a contender.

Funny you mention Iverson shakin Jordan. I said this in a thread the other day. ? love to talk about that play but never mention Jordan got Iverson back and shook him out of bounds.on the baseline literally the next trip down the court.

Lol @ AI not putting in work. I can tell a lot of you have never played basketball if you believe that ? .

You're not born with any basketball skills. Every single ability in basketball is learned. Do you really think he just picked up a basketball and was able to do all those handle tricks/passes and naturally able to shoot from 25ft? Do you know how hard it is to do all those moves and then pull up from NBA mid range to long distances? Do you know hard it is to hit body control shots or even layup with your off hand going full speed?

C'mon son, don't be naive. AI put in work like every other great player. Y'all just letting that practice rant cloud your judgment.

....The closest you can get to being a naturally gifted player is someone like Lebron or Shaq. Where they're just bigger, stronger and faster than everybody at their position, so they don't need to use basketball skills to stand out. They can just overpower everyone. AI at his height, weight etc. wasn't overpowering no player in the league.
