@broddie what's some good batman to read
Batman: Year One
The Man Who Laughs
The Long Halloween
Dark Victory
In that order are good places to start. -
superman too never been a fan of him, tho, but I wanna read it anyways..
Superman: For All Seasons
Superman: Brainiac
Superman: Red Son
All-Star Superman -
I always wondered why there hasn't been a prequel to The Dark Knight Returns that told the story/events that led to Batman retiring..
Well its finally happening.
-
R.I.P.:
Batman/Superman
Superman/Wonder Woman
Grayson
Starfire
Black Canary
Midnighter
Doctor Fate
Looks like I'll have some disposable income in my comics budget soon.
-
With Rebirth talks, titles getting cancelled was bound to happen..I figure they try to milk Batman/Superman
Superman/Wonder Woman comics with the movies coming out they are using those tiltes in promos for the movie in March,
Though rumors of possible Trinity Comic returning they could tie the ending of those two comics into Trinity.

Any intel on this comic?

Any intel on this comic?
Its dope. Im reading it.
Its about an American investigating the murder of one of his Iraqi trainees.
Its a crime drama, definitely something they should follow up with a movie or TV show and its only 3 issues in. -
Been buying comics again finally. Mainly DC titles only a few marvel. Just jumped in and not up to date on the current arcs but so far ive enjoyed the most recent issues of Flash, Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Teen Titans, JLA, and Martian Manhunter.
Current batman arc with Mr. Bloom is weird. Not a fan of Jim Gordon batman. Looks like bruce is coming back though, havent read issue 49.
Cyborg is a little slow but interested in learning more about his character. Same with Doctor Fate.
Not a huge fan of what ive been reading in Green Lantern, but hes my fave DC character so i gotta support.
Following the Green Lantern Corps Edge of Oblivion miniseries, i like the first 2 issues so far.
Few random issues of spawn, my comic store doesnt seem to have gotten any spawn comics the last couple months. I got issue 256 and 260. Glad Al Simmons is back though.
Got a couple series i havent read yet but will get to this weekend: Swamp Thing miniseries, Unfollow, and Sinestro. -
The DC Comics Rebirth begins in May 2016 with an 80-page one-shot written by Geoff Johns. The book is appropriately titled DC Universe Rebirth, and Johns hopes it will begin to restore a sense of "legacy" to the DC Universe. He announced the one-shot and general details at the ComicsPRO retailer event. The story starts with the line, "I love this world... But there's something missing..."
The writer, who also serves as Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, and as a producer and writer on several DC/WB TV shows and Film projects, will leave Justice League ahead of the rebirth of the line, he also announced. His last issue will be #50, the final issue before it relaunches.
There will also be Rebirth Specials for Aquaman, Batman, The Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lanterns, Superman, Titans, and Wonder Woman in June, Batgirl & The Birds of Prey, Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps, The Hellblazer, Justice League, Nightwing, and Red Hood and the Outlaws in July, and Batman Beyond, Blue Beetle, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Earth 2, Suicide Squad, Supergirl, Teen Titans, and Trinity in the more nebulous "Fall" release time-frame.
Every comic book in the entire DC Comics universe will relaunch with a new #1 issue (or simply end, or be replaced by another series). That is, except for Action Comics and Detective Comics, which will instead resume their classic numbering, picking up at #957 and #934, adding the New 52 issues to their total count. It's been widely rumored that those two series, along with some others, would move to a twice-monthly shipping schedule, and that was also confirmed by DC Comics.
Other twice-monthly issues include: Aquaman, Batman, The Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lanterns, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps, Justice League, Nightwing, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Justice League America, and Suicide Squad. Details on the series and creative teams will be revealed at Wonder Con on March 26.
DCU books will return to a $2.99 price point across the line, as well, after their "Hold the line at $2.99" tagline was abandoned as some books rose to $3.99 over the last few years. Retailers, however, are somewhat skeptical about the price point change.
"If you have a proven record with success you don't need to lower your prices," Dennis Barger of Wonderworld Comics told ComicBook.com. "DC has to bring the price of the line down to $2.99 for retailers and fans to trust them again. And still, most retailers I know intend to be very cautious."
Johns likens the DC Universe Rebirth more to The Flash: Rebirth and Green Lantern: Rebirth, books that focused on reimagining characters and continuing the legacy of the many decades of stories before them. DC Comics restored their previous versions of their universe in 2015's stop-gap mini-series Convergence, and it seems this will build upon that, though Johns didn't want to give any direct details just yet.
DC Comics will seek to work with both new and experienced talent, and also announced they've signed writer Tom King (Omega Men, Grayson) and artists Clay Mann and John Timms to exclusive contracts. Mann, a 10-year veteran of Marvel Comics and Valiant Comics, was called a "rising star" in DC's announcement.
The "curtain" teaser image (seen above) was updated to include a curious collection of characters with the announcement. It appears to show a 90s-style Superboy (with the jacket as part of his costume), classic 40s-style Jay "The Flash" Garrick, A hooded figure presumed to be Green Arrow, Another Flash, probably Barry Allen, a female Green Lantern, and Supergirl. It's notable that four of those characters are currently on TV in popular DC Entertainment and WBTV collaborations.
Here are the titles that you'll see relaunched:

THE FLASH REBIRTH #1

tbh as a person who started buying these comics again when it rebooted less than 5 years ago (including mini reboot last year after convergence) this is ? . -
Dope @ the price drop but kind of ? that books are dropping twice a month. That is gonna be spendy.
-
Eh, i started when the New 52 happened. Only stayed consistent for 16 months. Im so damn lost with the books ive just recently been buying that Im looking forward to the reboot and knowing whats going on haha. DC has been rebooting/relaunching pretty often though i can see how that may be frustrating.

Suicide Squad and Deathstroke for example will be relaunched and renumbered 3 times now and twice in the last 2 years smh.
Detective and Action Comics going back to 900's will confuse people.
And let be honest some these titles from this rebirth will be cancelled, so man this kinda sucks.
-
Im a little confused. Will there be ongoing Rebirth series as well as an ongoing solo series? or just one issue of the rebirth title?
For example, first month will there be: The Flash #1 and Flash:Rebirth #1? Month 2: The Flash #2 and Flash: Rebirth #2?
That would suck having to buy both issues Kinda like Batman always having 5 damn books, now everyone is going to have 2 books pretty much. -

I believe its a 1 shot rebirth issue to help launch the new books. -
I'm like @nujerz84 I got back into comics back in 2011 because of the New 52 so I'm a bit dubious about this.
-
i mean books like Cyborg, Martin Manhunter, Robin etc are currently on issue 9.. not even a year and now Cyborg getting relaunched back to issue 1.
-
I heard Marc Silvestri may be a doing a Batman book for rebirth. That could be dope if he can actually stay on schedule.
-
So sounds like Geoff Johns isn't going to be writing anything comic wise anymore? Will probably just focus on the films/tv shows? He's been one of my favorite writers since i started reading comics. Would suck to no longer have any stories from him.
-
I always knew they couldn't resist Action Comics #1000 and Detective Comics #1000. Going back to the legacy numbering and doubling shipping to get there sooner than later.
-
Always loved the super sons concept. That one will be on my radar.
