I gotta tell yall the story of what happened a few months ago when I picked up these two thugs. I aint never been under that much stress. Im sure them ? could hear my heart beat.
I mean seriously though...You walk up to somebody's car looking like this...
On that particular day, I put my biases in check saying that these young men just need a ride. I didnt want to stereotype. Scariest 15 minutes of my life. I wont do it again. I refuse.

What he said is not entirely true, and moreover it was a ? up thing to say in this context.
Nevertheless, he's right that how you dress, etc. can make a difference. But it doesn't always make a difference. It would be foolish to say that it doesn't make a difference because it doesn't always make a difference.
And, of course, whether it makes a difference is a different issue from whether we ought to be doing that to avoid police harassment. We shouldn't. As I have written on here many times before, I'm against dressing up to avoid racism and discrimination. But you're wrong if you think that dressing up doesn't help at all. -
