"Not all of us are like them other ? " is part of respectability politics.
You're reaching.
Not even remotely.
Who do you think that meme is targeting? -

I agree but I wouldn't dress like these guys either. that captain kangaroo fonsworth look has got to go. -

What do you think the message is then? -
Some people see that and feel judged. That's a personal issue.
I feel its more about the messege behind it
There basically saying your only respectable if you dress or act a certain way
Just because i dont dress like that doesnt mean i sag my pants
As blacks personally alot of us feel offended by something. because we always had to fight for respect
Even in school (atleast in america) history classes only show us as slaves or oppressed people -
Maybe the guys just want to show that love to dress up. I don't know.. Maybe it is them getting their respectability on. It's funny cause dudes who dress hip hop or whatever will clown dudes in suits on some he's corny ? but get mad at stuff like this. It is what it is though. Wear what you want
-
I dress like this on the regular *shrugs*

^^^^Has the Walt Clyde Frazier Collection

I'd like to go on record saying sagging below the ass is mad ?
-
This is beyond ridiculous. There's nothing inherently bad about sagging or necessarily good about suits. Theyre just cultural artifacts that people use to judge one another. Our views on them are completely subjective and arbitrary.
-
sagging and suits are not cultural artifacts and saggin where you ass is showing and you are immobile is stupid thats pretty objective other than that i agree with you

I already said it fam.
The meme presumes that someone somewhere said that all black men sag and thusly presents a group of black men not sagging to prove the point that "not all of us sag".
That's taking it at face value.
And like I said, it's plenty of people, young, old, black, white, Asian, etc who are unfamiliar with a well dressed young black male for a multitude of reasons.
