ComicsExplained put out some videos on how he would incorporate the X Men into the MCU and I like his ideas especially how they explained why mutants weren't mentioned in none of the previous MCU movies.

Again, that's a "cause we said so" answer.
It's like the creation vs evolution thing. Which is the more fascinating story? A complex progression of living things evolving to suit their environment? Or that a sky father said "let there be animals and ? "?
I'd rather them place the rise of mutants in the past 10 years. Maybe a Magneto of Arab descent instead of Jewish and connect his persecution to the war in the middle East. Something other than a mcguffin excuse to make the endless amount of movies that could be made out of X Men lore. -
It's such a trivial thing to even overthink at this point.
