I do believe that there were Black people in america prior to the slave trade.
But a man once asked me that if a cat climbed into an oven, and had kittens, could we call those kittens, biscuits?
Just because they were born in an oven doesnt make them biscuits, they are still cats.
Just because we were born in america doesnt make us american.
I dont believe that ? anymore.
African Americans aint Africans.

I got a solution. Stop letting mixbreeds and light skins claim black street gangs. Their identity crisis is a defect like mental retardation. They are provacateurs especially light skinned females. They are a big reason for black on black crime. He didnt have a problem being black when he need gucci and bloods for protection.

Race is a social construct made up by slave holders to help create justification for slavery. In 1500, people in England weren't saying we're white and Germans are white, so we are together! It wasn't until later that race has transformed into what we know today. Now we look at it as a science with all kinds of differences, but it's all folksy ? .
There is no black, there is no white. We are all mixes and very complicated ones. You have over 50 countries in Africa. What does African mean? What does someone in Ghana have in common with someone in South Africa? Yes there skin is both "black" but what heritage do they have in common that makes them in a same group?
Or look at it another way, we arbitrarily divide America into North and South but what do we North Americans in usa have In common with the North Americans of Mexico? Or what do people in Colombia have in common with those in Peru? Just the fact they both speak Spanish?
Y'all need to analyze these things. These ideas are just created by rich wasps to justify discrimination. Our true heritage is so much deeper than a easy box. When i talk to a Jamaican i want them to tell me their history and heritage as pertains to them, when i talk to someone from durban South Africa, i want them to tell me their history and heritage. To reduce them both to "black" and then expect them to have anything in common with a "black" "african- American" in South Carolina, is silly.
If you told someone to classify themselves based on eye color, you ask would laugh and say it's silly. Justifying on skin color is the same thing. It's man made ? . Waka is simply acknowledging and understanding this silly division t that is meaningless.
That is 100% different than oj. Who was actively buying into the racial classification system and trying to be placed into the "white" box.
Come on yall, think. -
I see alot of american blacks say thay tho .

You mean the classification that Karl Von Linné choose to describe us and point out that we were sub-human?
Yes I'm very aware. -

To those who didn't bother listening, what he means is that the idea of being black or African American exists solely in the United States. As someone who has traveled abroad, he's realized that the concept of race and nationality differs drastically from country to country, to the point where he doesn't feel constrained to the American standard of racial identity.
Nothing really to see here but a man who has experienced life beyond the boundaries of his Southern upbringing.
Lmao Europe is waaay more racist than America.
Let him try that "I ain't black" with them neo- nazis
The point is that race is interpreted differently outside of the US. -
According to OP he's basing this on the words of his Grandmas telling him so....
Yeah he needs to go ahead and take the test! -

no the word ? derives from the greek "necros" which means unloving or lifeless object. when they were calling us negroes back then they were basically calling us an object or property which why it is an offense. -

Kinda like how Dominicans will say they're Dominican and not black. Country before race -

I'll give being "black" as an example.
In the US, for most people, being black or African American is the most specific designation for them because they don't know what country their ancestors came from. The trans atlantic slave trade (and what came afterwards) ? it up for blacks in the US.
But the islands don't have that problem. Central and South Americans have a different problem altogether because their language and culture got mixed up differently between Africans, the indigenous, the Spanish, Portuguese, English, etc.
Being black in the US isn't the same as being black in China or being black in Senegal or being black in Sweden. They face different circumstances so their sense of identity will be different. -
what black folk called? a why american crackers arent called european anericans in comparison to ? beung called african american? -

You born in america...u american...theres no need to add extra labels to it in order to further seperate ppl into categories
