i think we need to develop Earn's and Paperboy's stories a bit more before branching out to more experimental episodes.
Still gonna stick with the show until the end of the season before I cast my final judgment.
I guess i've been spoiled by shows like house of cards, mad men, power etc. serious shows that usually follow a linear structure before going experimental.
30 min shows also tend to be less serious so there's that.
Gambino clearly doing this on purpose fam. He is intenially not focusing on the story. I'm assuming he wants to break the mold of what's "expected" in a TV subplot by keeping us guessing. Its similar to everyday life is how I'm taking it. Everything is unpredictable. I also think he is just trolling people just to past a message.
Btw this episode was hilarious and felt like something on Adult Swim lol
I get all that....but this is the same ? that the walking dead does and it ? me off...
And maybe that was the point but i really dont like being ? off or feel like im wasting my time while they could move forward the plot...
That being said i aint mad at it if its a one off thing...but if the show feels less urgent than ill feel less urgent to watch -

definitely a funny episode don't get me wrong, but i just really wanted the first two episode vibes back ? that jail scene was too much...by the way, where did you guys watch it. i watched it on couch tuner and i missed some of the 'commercials'
I watch it on the FX channel -
I feel like it is still loosely following earn n paperboy tho, last week was following van sure but van is directly related to earn n the regular life he portraying. Meanwhile while paperboy went to a charity ball game n "fox news", that is along the road as an artist with a building buzz in real life, gambino addin in the hidden details imo

I'm starting to like the approach.. Too many shows give you so much in the first season they focus too much on BIG MOMENTS to carry the show season to season.. A slow build works for me cause you expect more in the long haul for more background on the characters.. Smart move

The Arizona commercial was the truth....
-
I wasn't prepared to watch this. Its late. Paperboi was right with the Bruce jenner topic. I found it weird that they kept proping up Bruce as this attractive woman and some publications named him 'Woman of the Year.'

If this show was named anything other than ATLANTA it wouldn't have created a buzz!! Thats the only 'marketing' genius credit I would give Glover!! ? clearly used the bait and switch tactic with this ? !!
