Just saw it yesterday.
It's definitely better than Force Awakens, but.....just like Force Awakens...........it's not as good as any of the other Star Wars movies.
The masses are still gonna eat it up, but Disney isn't doing this franchise justice.
I was watching the TNT marathon when I got home, and I realized that the one thing that's missing from the Disney movies is a strong Jedi presence.
The foundation of Star Wars is the Jedi and the Force.
That's why Darth Vader putting in work was the best part of the movie.
Without Vader, it doesn't even seem like a Star Wars movie.
Force Awakens would've been better if it had focused on Luke Skywalker training his nephew to be a Jedi and what led his nephew to turn to the darkside.
Problem is, they've already told a similar story before with Luke, Obi Wan, and Anakin.
Guess they weren't creative enough to put a new twist on that storyline.
Probably due to George Lucas' lack of involvement in these new movies.
All in all, they're still gonna make money off the Star Wars franchise........but, unless some things change, these new movies are never gonna be as iconic as the old ones.
And I'm not even talking about New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.
These new ones aren't even on the same level as Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. -
Your opinion sucks

Rougue one wasn't supposed to have a strong Jedi presence because most of the Jedi were killed of and those that remain are in hiding. The movie is about the birth of rougue squadron and tjecapturingof the death Star plans by the rebellion. The story tells itself. Besides I don't want to see the same thing I saw in seven other movies letordinary troopers get some shine for once.I thought I wasn't going to like the movie because of the lack of colors etc it just seemed so bland biut man was I surprised. That movie had the best space battle and second best ground battle after empire strikes back.

Wasn't gonna watch this because Star Wars in general is stupid overrated, but ? was gassin Yoda in the Clone movie the same way, and it definitely made it worth it to watch the rest of that ? of a movie.
Plus ain't no good football games on tonight so I'm in there -
i'll say it again it was one of the best star wars movies. it felt like that marvel/Disney "vader down" comic book

Did we watch the same movie? This in particular is ? on the prequels. The only thing they got right were the duels. -
Saw it today...
Very gritty, war action (both on the ground troops and star fighter combats), loved the scale shots too which gave everything a much more authentic feel to the narration
As others said, this could arguably be the best movie in the franchise (definitely one of the best at least).
CGI and other effects were phenomenal and Darth Vader was GOATmy only main criticism was I didn't like the opening 15-20mins of the film. Very boring, scene setting, kept showing multiple cities/worlds with new characters like I was supposed to remember all that, who the characters was and the dialogue....."nah ain't nobody got time for that!" -
This movie is pretty gritty and dark so far 40 minutes in.
