Besides that, I'd prefer a man that can t take care of his mama as long as it's not in a self sacrificing way. How he treats his mom is a direct correlation to how he would treat me.
people can take care of their mothers in so many more meaningful ways besides sending them money every month. Like I said, sometimes its MORE loving and caring to NOT give them money.
This must be a cultural thing. for black people our main struggle is finances.we all started from the bottom. we already support each other emotionally because when you love someone that comes naturally.
I feel like it's not my place to deny my mother anything she asks for within reason that I can afford to do. My mother worked 2 jobs while going to school to get her masters just so that my brother and I could live a better life. And we do. So now if she needs some help with anything she knows she can come to us first.
I could never be selfish when it comes to giving my mom money. -

ya'll (women) read too deep into it tho......everybody's mama is not asking them for money.....we may just know their situation and want to help out......some of us came up hard (and w/o dads) and watched our mothers struggle to make sure we ate good and had what we needed...then we still act the ? up!...i stayed in trouble...leaving work to come and deal with my ? , gettin woke up in the middle of the night by police, bailing me out and falling behind on her own bills ....through all those hard times all a young man can think about is "damn, mama be makin it happen.......ima make sure she straight when im able" and that ? lives with you.....honestly i WISH i could do MORE for my mama right now but i cant...

Your mom made a choice to raise a child alone. All the things you listed are duties of a parent. Your kids dont owe you anything for doing whats expected
