The final track of the album ‘Bound 2′ takes us back to the early Kanye years with the soulful sample of the Ponderosa Twins Plus One’s ‘Bound’. Charlie Wilson closing out the album singing “there’s no leaving this party with nobody to love.” is strawberries and cream. The light-hearted and funky vibe is enjoyable and this track was a flawless finish to an impressive album.
All in all #Yeezus is a monster of an album and it insists to be played as loud as possible, no matter where you’re at.
FINAL SCORE : 5/5

Really can't take any of y'all opinions serious. Only time you have to "listen to music with an open mind" is when it's Kanye?

Yeezus>>>>illmatic, Paid In Full, ? , Mecca & The Soul Brother, Reasonable Doubt and Amerrika's Most Wanted.
You a trollin ass ? .? want Kanye on that Boom Bap ? .
LMAO, you ? .
I swear you cannot evolved or remain stagnant.
Which one is it guys?
It's not that ? want kanye on the style of Boom Bap beats; they want musical substance from Kanye. Is that too much to ask?
However, Kanye stated months ago that he would be making black music and people assumed he was going back to his roots of chicago style hip hop on soul beats. Ironically, he went the rock route; which is a style that was originated by black people, word to little richard.
But but Kanye evolved as an artist and had bang tracks and dope concept.
How am I trolling?
Musically it was amazing.
It's not classic because of On Sight.
I have it in my email. I havent listened to the album yet. Im not really interested in his "evolution as an artist" because there is really nothing that he had released recently that had grabbed my attention.
I really digged watch the throne and my beautiful dark twisted fantasy production wise.
His lyrics at the moment has no substance except for his egomaniac antics and grandiose bragging stunts.
Plus, he is ALWAYS rapping about Amber or Alexis. Jesus.
808 was his most soul bearing album lyric wise.
Well played, madam.
You should post more.
You actually know what you are talking about.
I love Kanye but I really dig this album because of the style he took it in.
I can see why most hate it.
I feel that Kanye doesn't want to repeat stuff twice imo. -

Have you ever read a well written music review, or any kind of analysis of an artistic work? They always take into consideration the intention of the project, what's going on in the artist's life, etc. It's never simply about the music. That's what I meant about the IC being too closed minded in viewing the album.
No. It is always simply about the music. Now, if you want to get more complicated with it you can go into all that kinda stuff, and take into consideration all sorts of things, but ultimately it's always about the music.
And you don't think that any of those other factors affect the music?
Based on that narrow logic then The Chronic is whack because the music alone isn't anything special.
Introducing a new sound and impacting the genre doesn't matter since it's just about the music.
A lot of people here seem to confuse their personal enjoyment of something with it's merit as a piece of work.
when u listen to beethoven 9th symphony it stands on its own regardless of what he going through when he made it
when i play john coltrance "love supreme" it stands on its own regardless of what he going through when he made it
when i listen to marvin ? "whats goin on" it stands on its own regardless of what he going through when he made it
when i listen to beatles white album, its stands on its own regardless of what they were going through when they made it
now if i go and do the research on top of that, then i may appreciate those works i just mentioned even more, but the music itself stands on its own outside of all that ? . there aint nothing narrow about that thinking. mary had a little lamb is a song all kids know by the time they are 5 cause that ? is catchy and stands on its own, no one cares what the creator of that song was going through at the time, but if u go into it you may get the backstory and be like "damn that makes this ? even better" but the backstory of some ? only ENHANCES the undelying music, it doesnt stand as a substitute
and gtfoh about comparing this ? to the chronic. the chronic banged everywhere from the day it came out. it's too early to say if yeezus will create a new sound or impact the genre, but as of today that ? is simply not good music. regardless of the name of the label.
gtfoh trying to say this ? will create a new sound that impacts the genre on the level of the chronic when its been out for less than 12 hours
this ? is hot garbage. accept my opinion and stop trying to belittle me just cause i dont like the ? . u like it and thats great, i don't. dont be looking down saying i dont know about this and that cause im narrowminded. i listen to everything from jazz to country to techno to soul to bluegrass to hip hop and to folk music. metal, rock, alt, classical and pop too. and it is with that wide knowledge base that i am saying this album is an overindulgent, overly hyped, ? concept album that fell short of its mark.
indicud is a gazillion times better than this and actually hit its mark. kanye just served up a big hot steaming pile of doo doo JDSTAYWITIT

This ? Buttah
HAHAHAHAHA -
Outside of a few songs Kanye really didn't say anything.
the production greatly outweighs the lyrical content imo
Kanye was never viewed as lyricist per say but he made up for it with charisma and substance.
it's sad when Kanye does an album like this it's considered genius but when it's someone else it gets ? on
I like some of the production and some of it isn't for me
I like the fusion of many different genres into one and that's where the album excels
other than that the lyrics leave much to be desired
you would think on an album titled Yeezus there would be a plethora of topics to be discussed
maybe I missed it because of the obscure production but it just isn't there for me.
I applaud Ye for stepping out of the norm of what a hip hop album should sound like
but I don't think this will change the sound because many artists can't pull it off despite how influential he is
I prefer 808s by a large margin but that's probably because i've had more time with it
in hip hop it won't be as respected or looked at as a classic but I can see other people going crazy for it
I don't hate it nor do I love it. it's just alright to me even tho there are a few highlights on the album -
Just got home from cruising on Lake Shore Drive giving the album the whip test...? bangs in the whip but after a while Bound was on repeat til I got back home....

This is kanye worst album

? riders like you don't even realize what y'all doing. ? is disgusting. The most open minded and knowledgable listeners who just want to hear good music no matter the form get chastised when they say something is wack. Muh fuckas take reaching to new levels trying to explain why some ? is wack b. ? just don't sound good.
Nobody expects great technical lyricism from Kanye. Nobody tryin to hear no boom bap. Personally I don't want to hear a CD or LR remake. Be "innovative" all you want b. As long as the ? ain't trash.
Have some dignity and create standards for the music you listen to instead of ? riding a goofy ass man. You can say I Stan for whatever rapper all you want but I don't tolerate wack music from nobody and you can check my track record.
Same posters saying Tha Carter isn't a classic album are saying this is a 9/10 yo?!?! ? I don't think Cole's album was bad and I gave it a 6.5/10 and it's better than this ? . That's what you call objectivity. I listen to every piece of music with an open mind. Not just Kanye so y'all need to quit trying to insult posters' intelligence.
SheerExcellence already sonned this thread. Y'all make me hate music fans and be ashamed to call myself a hip hop fan. -
I think the most interesting thing about many of these comments is that 808s after being ? on is now considered a dope album (or at least better then this?). Maybe the same will happen to this album.. He struck a nerve with Yeezus. The music critics love it, the hiphop fans hate it. I can see why people were expecting more lyrical insight with an album labeled Yeezus.
-
808 was always a dope album to me...except love lockdown.....although he jacked the concept from No I'd
-
And I liked 808s from the first time I heard it. Weakest Kanye album to me was Graduation.
-
I think this is weakest album tho....the sloppiness and overall idgaf attitude cheated the project ...let's remember this is a guy who mixed stronger like 50 times ...but Yeezus is still a good album

My good friend, FuriousOne, have you ever heard of the "Zelda Cycle"?? -
At the end of the day in an era where overly hyped rappers can't release albums due to the fact hat they can't create hits singles see. JCole the sideline story..props o Kanye for doing wtf he wanted to do

I'm not a producer so idk, but it didn't sound sloppy to me (some say overproduced). I think it was meant to sound raw. It was very minimalist and the instrumentation seemed conflicting on purpose. Like sounds you wouldn't think should work together are made to organize out of chaos. Maybe I'm being to abstract. -

This ? always in his feelings tho... this album is ass tho.. but i am going to listen to it a few more times to see what i missed -
I swear this ? Kanye's downward spiral has hit maximum overdrive.
Naaaah....I can't ? with Yeezus. -
Never thought I would delete a Kanye West album so fast
This ? was wack
