Nah sounds like he just wanted to have fun with it and not so serious as CS was. Don't see the issue with that, not going to be for everybody either way.

Giving an album of his a shot for the first time. I'm on track 4. For some reason I thought he'd be more thoughtful with a different approach. This better improve very quickly or it's getting 86'd before halftime...I'll keep the last track for the battle though.

should have started with control system

    Finally heard this ? .
Found it on youtube. Couldnt pay much attention to about the first half cuz i was ridin around gettin drinks n ? .

Idk if i started feeling tipsy or i was just feeling this album. Last 4 or 5 tracks especially. That track with danny brown had me hype as ? .

I admit i was slow tryna catch all the punches in the battle but was still feeling it. Gota listen to the whole album again. Maybe sober. My longest ? post ever.

Decent but Soul gotta come harder. I have no better an understanding of who he is or his story after hearing his album than I did just listening to random songs.

my issue with this album is the same issue I had with oxymoron. it's kinda all over the place with no real direction. the track placement throws the listening experience off. also the two songs in one irritates me because some of them weren't necessary. and in some cases the song switch was better than the one preceding it

I'm 4 tracks deep and so far this is dope. Ab-Soul's worldplay is second to none on wax in the game right now.

Reviews in here got me worried though. I'm hoping it doesn't drop off in quality.

Now that I think about it Twact was really Wack too.

I really hated Freeways first album when it first came out too but I'm bumping it 10 years later. So anything can grow on you. Ima give everything a chance.

he has two other albums that talk about that, i don't understand this critique.

Yeah he's gotten mad personal on wax, more so than any other TDE member. Especially Book of Soul.

Definitely admit I haven't heard Control System yet so I gotta go back.

But when it's your first commercial release aren't you supposed to save your best stuff? Look at Kendrick.

Control System was a commercial release, and I personally think Kendrick's best album is Section.80.

The other thing is that I think this album is dope. I'm still on my first listen, but I don't get the hate so far, except for Twact which is obviously wack.

And Control System is a classic to me and the best album to come out of TDE, so I didn't expect this album to top it. It's still good though.

i've come to the conclusion that this is a "mixtape" but since TDE don't do mixtapes they released it like their previous albums (digital then next week physical copies through their website, pretty standard for an indie)
