if gruden calls plays that allow 4G3 to utilize his kills and don't try to make him a pocket passer immediately instead of easing him into that style of qb then he might struggle

defense look like they playing with a edge i haven't seen in a while

Gonna need Amerson and the new Safety Ihenacho to be on their A game. We cant afford to play ? in the secondary like we did last season.

Defense has surprised me, they've played well. But we need to get some consistency offensively, our running game is poppin we need to stick with it. Oh yeah our special teams an O-line is still garbage.

Turnovers and Special Teams. I feel we'll be aight though.

We moved the ball on the ground well on a top notch front 7. There is no front 7 in our division that is close to Houston's so the run game should be good to go, as well the pass blocking won't be THAT bad in div play and vs some of our other future opponents.

Gotta get off to a quick start in the home opener next week. On to the next one.

I got the same feeling when it was all over and done with. Griff came out and played well in the 2nd half, we just ? ourselves. Watt killed us but hes arguably the best defensive player in the league. Not going to panic but that first half was ? awful lol

Was impressed by the play of Keenan Robinson, I think he will be solid throughout the year. Can't say a lot about RG3 he was really nothing more than a game manager against the Texans. He's got to understand when he has opportunities to make plays with his athleticism he needs to take them. Seems like Gruden didn't want to put him at risk exposing him to Watt so he called a lot of ? and dunk plays..but the team played to ? overall to win..Hopfeully this was just a wake up game and things will be different against the jags.

1)Sucks Bobby got hurt. He started the game off strong too. Tough Break.

    2) DJacc getting hurt but he should be good.

    3) Kirk balled out much props to him. I'll be looking forward to see how he plays this Sunday at Philly. In relief I never have doubts of Kirk it's when he's gameplanned for as the clear starter where he struggled. Hopefully he can defy that aspect this year. Let's ride out Ya momma and ya Cousins too.

    4) Our RB's EAT. Don't matter if it's Alf, Helu, Redd or DY.

    5) told ? about Ryan Grant. That is all.

    6) Where the ? THIS Niles Paul come from?!? Who was that ? today?

    7) This defense got some rough riders on it. Haven't had an attacking defense like this since Gregg Williams was DC.

    8)The front Seven..sheesh. 10 Sacks is crazy.

    9) ST took a step forward this week.

    10) Rambo...man I was rooting for you but today was it dawg.

    11) only knock of this game besides injuries was we did have a lot of penalties still. Gotta cut that out.

Gruden, McVay and Haslett deserve gameballs too. Called a hell of a game.

    Two things to add:

    1. Jason Hatcher worth every penny. Kerrigan balled out too but Hatcher is in the backfield all the time, disrupting ? . He might be the best FA signing on defense we've had over the last decade. He's a dog.

    2. There's obvious feelings all over DC about the Cousins/RG3 dynamic. But the truth from a pure football standpoint is everyone LOOKS better out there w/ Kirk. O-line somehow blocks better, plays seem to develop on time in rhythm. I try rationalizing this but it is what it is. Almost all our beat writers who watch them guys every day say Kirk plays with more confidence and precision and privately Gruden has expressed more faith in him.

Me I just want this team to win. Time to go to Philly and keep this going

I'll add that his first two years Cousins tends to be more loose with the ball than Bobby. Griffin is usually careful whereas Kirk will take chance. He'll put it in traffic when he shouldn't, and that worries me. I turned up Redskins 980 after the game. LOts of callers on both sides: "Finally we get to see what a real quarterback should play like" and "Well people wanted Kirk even though we saw last year he can't do it."

I think people in their feelings rather than just lookin at it objectively.

Here's what Gruden said (from Mike Wise column)

“We’re sick about it, but now we have to move forward. That’s what you do in the NFL when people go down, you have to have good backup plans. That’s why Kirk is here. We feel very strongly about his role as a quarterback.”

A few minutes later he added: “I feel like we can win any game with Kirk Cousins . . . Kirk is a special guy. He started four games last year and didn’t have great success, but obviously has a skill set that I feel like is very much suited for what we do. He can handle it mentally, and obviously, physically. I feel that he can make every throw in the book and we are going to move forward with Kirk.”

    Ay,

Fantasy sleeper next week: Ryan Grant.

Kirk and him definitely have some chemistry. Especially with that fade that he caught inside the 5, that was just a pretty play. Ryan runs great routes and Kirk gets it to him on time.

Should be able to see how legit the run defense is this Sunday.
Jags ain't get ? on the ground and although Foster had 103 yards week one it was on less than 4 yards a carry.

Shady and Sproles a different animal.

Scust at fans being happy that RG3 got hurt...Smh ? is hustling backwards...I do hope Cousins ? out, just get us some wins and potentially raise his trade value...RG still the future of the franchise I don't understand why people are debating this.

But at the end of the day I'm a Redskins fan, not an RG3 only fan. If Kirk can get us W's gotta roll with him at least for this season.
