ENTERTAINMENTThe Enticing New True Detective Season 2 Plot RumorsUrban, satanic, with a dash of porn.
BY PAUL SCHRODT
As we get closer to a new season of True Detective, the inevitable leaks about the show grow. Movie Pilot reports to have details about the plot, which creator Nic Pizzolatto had earlier described ambiguously as involving "the secret occult history of the United States transportation system" in California.
According to Movie Pilot, "The season is due to kick off with the dead body of a corrupt politician being found along the Pacific Coast Highway with satanic symbols carved into his chest. California Highway Patrol officers Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch are assigned to the case. It turns out the victim is a known associate of Vince Vaughn's character and this dead man had a dark side involving some associations with ? clubs - but perhaps most importantly, the man was in the middle of brokering a big deal that would solve the state's gridlock problem."
Vaughn's character is supposedly a "career criminal" trying to go honest, and gets involved in a business deal over a railway system, which would seem to be at the center of the season's murder conspiracy. Photos posted on Twitter* from the set show off a more urban, sleek look that's in line with director Justin Lin's work (Fast & Furious, Better Luck Tomorrow). Lin will helm the first two episodes of the new season.
WE RECOMMEND
Vince Vaughn and Crew Create Brilliant Stock Photos
The ? rumor certainly jibes with news from Hollywood Reporter that True Detective has hired porn stars Amia Miley and Peta Jensen for "a deliriously vast orgy sequence involving dozens of naked bodies in Eyes Wide Shut-caliber sex antics." (If that's not a teaser, I don't know what is.)
In addition to Vaughn, Farrell, and Kitsch, Rachel McAdams plays a sheriff whose style conflicts with the two officers.
Clashing police, mysticism, sadomasochism, and orgies. Sure sounds like True Detective.

I would say Matthew scenes are GOAT worthy but not the entire season..
Still cant wait for the next season tho.. -
True detective first season was a masterpiece
-
only three people ? with True Detective? wow
-
Can't wait for this. There's simply no way this can live up to the first season but I doubt HBO would let this ? be wack. Two of my favorites are in this; Vince Vaughn (his last movie bombed horribly) and Taylor Kitsch (coming off of Friday Night Lights his career has been a train wreck with the obvious exception of Lone Survivor) Here's hoping they both can redeem themselves.

Mystery about transportation gridlock............... Really

Hint. Its called "true detective"
The murder and ? is background. Its about everything that comes with being a "true detective". We spent all last season looking for clues with em but who did it wasn't what mattered in the end. It wasn't important. Between the two of them they dealt with a lot of loss, addiction and deceit in their personal. The case brought the stress of those things in their life to the fore front. Being "true detectives" to the end got them thru that ? . Nothing else could.

I'm excited for this although I know it won't live up to season 1. I doubt that ? will be topped in TV for a while.

about time. cant wait. enjoyed season 1 immensely. even though the finale didnt live up to expectations. the cinematagrophy and character development were second to none. it might also have something to do with my affinity for southern gothic tales. not too many shows on right now are of that genre or depict that. rectify is the only other one i can think of. that one is pretty good too

I think most of us got burned off that ? finale. It seemed like some down South cult ? with literary ties and a video more freaky than The Ring but esentially some redneck ? dude and his mom kept a dude barely alive liken in Se7en and then the fat ? knuckle got capped when Rust had a hallucination, got stabbed and needed the help of the guy whose wife he ? to clap the dude. It was a ? abysmal ending to a show that seemed densely plotted and beautifully film to create a real ? tense atmosphere of paranoia and most of the ? didn't even pay off. What was with the daughter playing gang ? with her dollies? What the ? was on that video?
It basically built itself up and then shot itself in the foot so it could have a last minute feel good "I found the light, hallelujah!" ending that, while well acted, made no ? sense in relation to the rest of the show and the depiction of Rustin Cohle. Dude doped on morphine in a coma thinks he connects to ? rather than using his sense and cynicism, as he showed he had, to go "Man, I need to stop taking dope, makes me imagine some ? !"? It just ? sucked and seemed like McConaughey signed on and asked for script changes so if he played an atheist he'd not stay as one.
I thought it was pretty clear that it was implied it was some type of ritualistic gang ? on the videotape. -
Yeah...I enjoyed the ? outta Season 1 but it did taper off at the end, the last couple of eps were doo doo grits. I kinda think that the show was supposed to have a different ? but it got clapped. There was alot of ? being exposed subliminally in the show. Having said that I have zero faith in season 2, the trailer looks wack and confirms my suspicions that Pizzoloto(sp?) would be able to top the brilliance of most of season 1.

Yeah,, probably gonna get feelings for this one. 1st season finale was disappointing in the sense that the whole cover up should of been exposed... Instead they catch ? possessed guy who practices ? and such.. My beef is the series implied higher society types covering these acts up( which I liked, because i I believe these satanic cults exist in our society and practice sacrificial ritualism)
My point is the ones who do these things wear business suits not just the stereotypical guy which was portrayed -
I am going to be optimistic and say this season will be good.
