Also a movie is supposed to have a beginning, middle and end regardless of whether it's part of a franchise or not. Giving passes to incomplete half baked movies because "don't worry the next one will resolve what happened with this one." is exactly what's wrong with genre filmmaking today and if you can't fathom that; this conversation is over.

U guys who hate on Prometheus & this film are too nostalgic for Alien 1 & 2 when Alien 2 was far dumber than Prometheus & Covenant

Aliens is a damn near perfect movie and eloquently established that these animals had an established wildlife ecosystem and hierarchy system.

Prometheus at least was it's own thing but all Alien: Covenant does is go "they're just another nuclear bomb created by us by proxy. So the company has been wasting time in the future trying to turn what is already technically their own bioweapon into their own bioweapon" lmao and you seriously gonna say Aliens is dumber?

    Engineers create man

    Man creates android

Android creates the destruction of both it's creator and it's creators creators

Thus the one source of intelligence in the universe is actually as pigheaded as it's own creation and got undone by it's own human nature.

? bro that is so mindblowing because in the end it all just goes back to man. ? exploring space because there is nothin out there really exploring. It all just ties back to us and Planet Earth. We totally needed a new trilogy of movies to spell that out lmfao smh.

Ridley Scott should've just directed Blade Runner 2 instead and explored that Walter/David angle via replicants. Since it's clearly the only ? he was really interested in.

    don't forget sentient spores...

smh.. thats what the engineers were running from in Prometheus... a broken canister filled with... sentient spores...

    thing is tho...

David was in the bunker and saw the dead petrified bodies... so how could david have 10 years with this goo and not know what was gon happen upon releasing it?
his "experiment" is stupid as ? cause it already happened on the other planet, only on a much smaller scale.

At least the sentient spores were an actual alien concept. I give them that much. Only for the appeal to be undone by the human behavior & lack of intelligence of so called omnipotent beings.

It is a gotdamn shame that the origin from AvP makes better sense than this ? .

Ancient species bred and hunted for sport.

Crazy as ? that something by Mr. Milla Jovovich had more care and respect towards not just the genre itself but the original movies over something by the director of the original Alien.

Better than Prometheus but that ain't saying much. Ending was so predictable. Saw that ? coming a mile away. Not interested in another installment.

    Watched it last night.

A lot of turning the characters into retards for plot reasons in this move, the messed up thing is they could have found a way to move the plot along without turning the characters into ? .

    - Going on unknown planet with no suits

    - Takes notice that "There is are animals on this planet." Then act surprised when mugs start falling out, getting sick.
Well, gee, I wonder why there are no animals on the planet.

-panicky woman locking the other woman up to get killed, then blowing up the ship.

    - NOT SCANNING EVERYONE AFTER KNOWING THERE ARE ALIENS INCUBATING IN, AND BURSTING OUT OF MOFOS.

    sheesh.

Are you not bothered about this current arc getting its closure then?
