5th Letter- Where are you from?
CapitalB- Born & Raised in Los Angeles California.. Vegas paid tho.
5th Letter- What's it like growing up in LA?
CapitalB- LA was fun man.. iv never hid and stated many times on the board about my mother having me at 15.. and even though I was her oldest I was the youngest in a pretty big family.. I was the baby. my great grandmothers' first child first grandchild.. looking back in a weird sense I felt like I grew up in royalty. I was born in 82.. same yr ? hit LA.. so it was a lot of ? going on in the streets and my family was at the heart of it for the most part. Father's side of the family as well even more so.. especially gang related.. think of it like when Simba walked around and everyone knew that was Mufasa's son. thats how it was wit me.. I was the kid that couldn't be touched. I grew up wit a lot of my mothers younger cousins who looked up to her my pops and uncles so I had a sense of invulnerability.. more on that later..
but growing up was fun.. I grew up fast. I ran the streets.. I always liked girls.. and I always had a hustle.. I can remember far back as elementary drawing Transformers and Bart Simpson for quarters so I can buy 50/50 bars after school.. oh yeh.. I went to private school for majority of my elementary years.. Jr High was a lil different.. I went to school outside of my district cause of how bad the city was.. these kids aint know me and could give two ? who my people was.. they forced me to use all the ? I learned growing up to that point to defend myself.. surprisingly tho it was fairly easy.. u gotta think.. for a kid growing up wit cousins 5-10yrs older than him and bein roughed up in the house ? my age didn't stand a chance.. also what made it worse is because I couldn't beat up my cousins I learned to talk ? .. id talk ? and run to my momma or something.. so by Jr High I was proficient in whooping a ? ass and talking ? while doing it. lmmfao. by high school I was off the chain.. moms was none the wiser tho.. she was very strict in trying to keep me out of the gangs my family was from.. so much so I had to learn to become two different people.. the perfect son at home and the hell raiser in the hood.. again I am attending a school outside my district so word never got back to her the ? I was getting into.. by the end of Jr High and beginning of high school tho I'm heavy in the streets.. we all know about Crenshaw.. my young ass was there.. riding in my cousin's and uncle's lowrider.. ? they girlfriends homegirl.. drinking St Ides special brew.. licking ? in dice.. so on and so forth..
looking back ? was a party.. but wasn't.. bein apart of a family like that was a gift and curse.. all the above was the gift.. the curse was me having to watch all my relatives go.. majority of them got killed a handful went to jail... some still there to this day.. my first serious death was a cousin that was younger than me on my step pops side.. I was 13 and he was 12 and we was close.. he had a heart condition tho. next up was my father when I was 15.. I changed a lot after his passing.. especially after getting close to his side of the family and getting a complete understanding for who I was..
a lot of my jr high and high school yrs I was busy trying to be like my cousins and who I thought my father was.. id hear stories.. some of which embellished but my ? would go and do some ? to have my own but better story. lol & smh. in the hood bein an artist was unheard of.. I liked to cook and wanted to go to culinary school.. "? please!" I was naturally talented in sports but that was never where my heart was plus I was so bad in school no college would even look at me.. so there I was getting money and having ? . lmmfao fresh out of high school I got my rude awakening.. my closest cousin.. basically my big brother.. he was a yr older than me got gunned down.. he grew up like I did and like me had that same air of invincibility.. he didn't have the same protection tho.. and him getting killed humbled the ? out of me. not to go into details but it wasn't jus because he died but the politics behind it.. it turned me off to the streets totally but only for the moment.. maybe more on that later.. but yeh.. that was me growing up. the smart kid who had to grow up fast to keep up with his relatives..

5th Letter- You said you changed after your dad died, in what way? How did you end up getting back into the streets after you got your rude awakening?
CapitalB- my dad wasn't around when I was growing up.. I knew of him heard all types of stories about him but didn't know him.. and even though I had my stepfather who was in my life since I was going on 2yrs old I always felt different.. I mentioned earlier how I had to keep up wit my older cousins.. my mom side is very emotional.. passionate people.. they go the ? off and worry about whatever later.. they literally give no ? .. I'm like that to a fault.. but I was always a watcher.. a thinker.. and that ? didn't fit in where I was growing up at..
I was 14.. Ill never forget.. moms dropped me off in front of my dads spot and honked the horn.. pops came out looking NOTHING like I envisioned him.. he was a shell of himself.. he resorted to the bottle to chase away his demons.. I didn't know it then.. no one did but he was dying.. anyways.. moms sent me there cause she didn't have money for some ? I wanted for school.. so basically was on some "ask yo daddy" ? .. I forgot what I wanted.. but when I finally got to meet him whatever it was was the last thing on my mind. I wanted to pick his..
crazy ? is my dad lived not even 10 miles from where I lived.. so everyday damn near id hop on my bike and go see him.. I of course had to make sure I did all my work at home and school and ? before I go so when I say that was my ONLY good year in school since PreSchool.. my ? .. all As and Bs and no negative marks.. getting to know my dad was me getting to know myself.. we are much alike except he doesn't show his emotions.. I'm my mother's child in that regard.. but as far as bein calculated and not allowing judgment to cloud my thoughts.. I get that all from my dad..
him dying basically led me to embrace things that I was ashamed of.. I became unapologetic.. me and my mother got into it real bad around that time and I even went in on her and I had every right to.. now usually a child's love for his or her parent would prevent them from standing up to them.. especially as a kid.. but nah.. ? that! lmfao.. I no longer gave a ? ..
once u accept who u are and fall in love wit the person u are can't nobody get in-between that.. can't nobody disrespect that or make u feel any less and from that point on I wasn't the quiet baby that did everything to make everyone else happy. I loved and respected myself before anyone else from that point on.. I was 15 and I know people my age and older that still haven't had that moment and I thank my dad for that from the talks we had and mistakes he made.. cause he lived his life like me prior to.
now as far as me going back to the streets..
my cousin getting killed was like my "scared straight" moment..
a ? said ? it! imma get a job.. maybe college.. something! these streets don't love me.. I actually had a job commin out of highschool.. part time but nothin heavy but always had side hustles.. but now I was fully committed..
the problem was tho.. I wasn't living at moms no more..
I moved out around the same time all this ? was happening. I was 19 going on 20 so maybe a few months after my cousin passed I'm in my own apartment. I was working at Macy's... they had all the fly ? .. this was 2001/2002 I'm 20yrs of age and I'm ringing up ? for customers that I can't afford trying to be this square. that was the first strike..
then I got a security job for the airpot.. ? was cool.. worked graveyard and they gave all kinds of overtime for morning shift.. so checks was cool.. actually I may have this backwards.. I think Macy's was after the security.. iunno.. I aint had a job in over 10yrs ? . lmmfao
anyways I learned from my first job and this ? telecommunications job I had about how companies will try and use u and bully u.. I wasn't going for that ? .. like I said a minute ago.. I respect me.. so YOU go respect me.. I had a few run ins wit authority.. also I have a problem with authority.. I think it stems from growing up.. moms having me at 15 she didn't have time for me AND to get her life right.. so I was home alone while she worked and went to school and step pops worked and worked.. I was 9yrs old home alone watch my brother and baby sister.. I was the parent. lol
anyways I would have it out the shift lead the manager and even the district manager.. they got rid of my ass! lmmfao
a friend of mines pops got me a guard card tho and a gun license to do armed security.. this was the last and final straw..
of all the years of running the streets.. bein in stolen cars.. carrying weapons and ? .. I got to jail for carrying a concealed weapon that I was licensed to carry. long story short got pulled over going home from Jack N' the Box and because I had MY GUN in the glove box loaded they took me away..
my rights were totally violated cause there was no probable cause to pull me over let alone search my vehicle.. I fought the case for over a yr only for the judge to allow the gun into evidence.. it was my first offense so I had the option of doing hundreds of hours of community service or a month in county.. I chose county.. ? that ? .. I had community service before as a minor... anyways that yr in court I watched the system at play and saw it for what it was.. and before I turned myself in I told my moms outside in the halls of the court that when I come back home I was gonna be a "runaway slave".. those were my exact words.. explained to her how I saw it we either house ? or field ? in this ? .. Imma run! lmmfao
and from the day of my release to this day iv been running..
I guess I came to the realization then.. but ESPECIALLY now is that I'm bad at bein good..
but I'm damn good at bein bad. lol -
5th Letter- You said you became a run away slave, did you have a plan or were you just gonna figure it out as you went along?
CapitalB- nah.. I had a plan.. I'm the observant one remember?? lol I watched my uncles and cousins..
when I made the conscious decision that "this is what imma do" I took into account all the things that made them successful.. and also all the things that doomed them. I'm standing on the shoulders of giants..
I owe a great deal to those who came before me.. it ? me up that they can't be here.. so since I can't thank them I repay them by helping out they kids.. my cousin who got killed I was jus telling u about I have full custody of his son and have him getting his act together cause he was headed down the same path.. I went from bein the youngest male in my family to now the oldest.. so I do a lot for my family.. a lot that was done for me when I was a kid..

CapitalB- lmao.. everyone from older family members and teachers always told me one day imma take ? serious and when I do and put my mind to it imma be great at it. lmmfao when I say all my life I was raised by women.. loved and spoiled by women I aint even trying to be funny.. girls in school always liked me.. to this day I don't have any pick up lines.. I can jus tell when a girl likes me or if I'm doin something a girl likes that'll make her like me.. iv been girl crazy since elementary.. I guess its only fitting.. I was already in the streets doin some other ? when a girl came along who required my services.. she liked my ? .. we ? we went on our way.. or so I thought.. ? was really into me and had a lot of money so we kicked it heavy.. u start bein around some ? long enough u get curious.. long story short I saw what the ? was doin and wit my hustler mentality and seeing how slow these ? in the game were I saw an opening.. I went for it and been on ever since. as for the why?? why not? lol

CapitalB- actually nah.. not really.. how I am now is how I was before. I'm the same person this is jus my profession.. I never changed up.. I never was a one woman type dude growing up. I always juggled females..
my old landlord laughs at how she use to watch girls come in and out my apartment but never had any drama from me.
like I was saying I was raised by women I know women better than they know themselves jus by bein around strong women all my life. my problem if anything is money. I don't care about it contrary to belief.. never have ..I always knew how to get it.. so it wasn't never a dire need for it.. I was the type that would give u my last without second thought cause I knew I could go right outside to get it and this is me before the game. so in the beginning I had a lot of people taking advantage of my kindness compounded wit the fact I felt like I owed everybody for still bein here.. I'm getting better tho now having a daughter.. I think and move different.. thats really my endgame.. to see her and any other child I have into adulthood and to push the family forward. but nah.. girls are the easy part..

5th Letter- Music is the soundtrack of our lives especially growing up, how did you get into hip hop?
CapitalB- yeh I totally agree.. I don't know if a kid from any inner city can "get into hip hop" its really an indoctrination.. I can remember as far back as preschool singing songs off a slick rick album.. if it came on today id still know some of the words.. my step pops went to college in San Diego and would drive me to and from LA over the weekend.. I can remember riding with him in his bug wit the town down on the freeway bumping Slick Rick and LL.. doin the butt was my jam! my earliest memories in life was me rapping and dancing to the music.. oh.. and Michael Jackson! lmmfao the first song I can remember fallin in love wit tho I think was "Indo Smoke" my granny bought me the cassette and my mother told me to hide it from my step pops. lmmfao I was a kid and didn't know what the hell that ? was about.. but I liked it! lmao when I got old enough to really understand what was going on I think it was the whole Bad Boy Era and Missy.. Mase was my favorite rapper.. I was a happy kid and jus loved to dance and think I was fly... Missy's simple ass lyrics had a ? thinking he could rap wit the greats. hahaha bein on the WestCoast tho I grew up of course on the NWAs.. Death Row.. DJ Quik and Cube.. rollin wit my cousins thats all they'd play along wit ? from the Bay.. I caught a lot of flack during the East Coast West Coast beef cause I liked Puff and'nem.. iunno.. CapitalB- ? was live! i was a lil young so i couldnt fully appreciate it.. but all the ? u was seen in the movies in the videos was really happening.. as i got older and started runnin wit my own crew was around the time WSC was poppin.. CapitalB- since this go be in the reason my favorite right now, Big Sean.. least favorite.. that ? Kendrick Lamar! hahaha but nah in all seriousness i enjoy all music.. i listen to them all.. all except Nas! hahahaha on everything i love i got over 11k songs new and in my phone and i jus ride on shuffle.. Prince may get followed up wit Scarface.. only ? i fast foward is u guessed it. Kendrick Lamae and Nas. i swear.

CapitalB- hey.. im 35yrs old.. i had my day.. my thoughts is allow these kids to have theirs.. we grew up and we hated old ? talkin about how rap USED to be.. Big Daddy Kane Kurtis Blow Run DMC and ? .. we wasnt tryin to hear them OR THAT ? !! we wanted our own ? to identify wit to separate us.. same ? is goin on today.. my feelings is grow wit ur artists.. not hiphop.. u in ur late 20s-40s ? is u listen to teenagers for!? U AINT SUPPOSE TO GET IT!
im watchin old heads rag on these ? about skinny jeans the same way older ? ragged on us about saggin.. vicious cycle.. ? act like they forgot what it was like to be young rebellious and misunderstood.. at the end of the day if its fun im tryin to have it.. imma partake.. i like that Young Thug ? .. ? go.. CapitalB- i use to come to allhiphop for the rumors and ? on the first page.. i use to post a lil on another site.. hiphopdx or some ? i forget.. this was like 10yrs ago.. iunno what happened maybe boredom but i clicked on the IC and was jus seein what the ? was goin on.. forget the exact title and think the poster name was hellraiser or some ? but it was a thread about how ? were lame for givin game to ? .. female relatives included.. well seein as who i am its easy to see why i took offense so i signed up signed on and went at the dude.. back then the IC was cliq'd up so i found myself takin on 4 or 5 posters cause i was tearin his ass up.. that ? probably lasted a day or two and then i jus started bein on the boards more often cause people didnt know me here so i knew theyd engage me.. people who knew me on other platforms jus steered clear. hahaha my first few yrs on here was a ? warzone.. now its jus a few ? here and there. but u get a familiarity wit the posters.. majority of whom are cool as ? .. me bein a street ? aint too many that can keep up wit me or challenge me intellectually and i found alot of that here so i stuck around.. back then we had mornin crew and night shift.. i usually kicked it during the night and shot the ? wit the real ? on the boards and then wake up early and catch the mornin crew and talk some ? ? jus to ? them off and get them goin. hahaha the IC is the ? man.. ? dont understand. i be in my ohone crackin up and they jus be like "ic!!?" i be like yeh.. cause aint no explainin this ? ... jus hang on for ride and watch out for certain posters. lmmfao

CapitalB- at least 9yrs i wanna say.. dont remember the specific yr.. i can remember exactly where i was at in some of my run ins and that was over 9yrs ago.. i spent all of my mid 20s up to now in my mid 30s in this muthafucka. crazy when u think about it.. i grew up alot in life in that time.. im sure its reflected on the board as well... but yeh..

CapitalB- ? .. me arguin! hahahaha the exposures.. especially the Cali exposure cause i use to get into it wit that ? all the time and to find out she was poppin her ? for 13cent gave me life! hahaha i remember KTULU or whatever the cat name was and a few others.. i was shocked to realize everyone wasnt religious and shared some of my same thoughts and ideas.. it use to be religious wars up in this ? .. we converted a few and got them away from that ? ass ? Jesus. lmmfao umm the Fashion Forum use to pop.. we use to be up in that thang postin fits and jus shootin the ? .. iunno.. its really a blur.. i cant think of early experiences cause its an experience in totality to me.. i hear alot of people complain the IC aint what it use to be.. its jus the IC to me.. i guess to some this is they reality.. to me its my escape.. so i dont take it as serious and jus take it for what it is that day..

CapitalB- at least 9yrs i wanna say.. dont remember the specific yr.. i can remember exactly where i was at in some of my run ins and that was over 9yrs ago.. i spent all of my mid 20s up to now in my mid 30s in this muthafucka. crazy when u think about it.. i grew up alot in life in that time.. im sure its reflected on the board as well... but yeh..

CapitalB- ? .. me arguin! hahahaha the exposures.. especially the Cali exposure cause i use to get into it wit that ? all the time and to find out she was poppin her ? for 13cent gave me life! hahaha i remember KTULU or whatever the cat name was and a few others.. i was shocked to realize everyone wasnt religious and shared some of my same thoughts and ideas.. it use to be religious wars up in this ? .. we converted a few and got them away from that ? ass ? Jesus. lmmfao umm the Fashion Forum use to pop.. we use to be up in that thang postin fits and jus shootin the ? .. iunno.. its really a blur.. i cant think of early experiences cause its an experience in totality to me.. i hear alot of people complain the IC aint what it use to be.. its jus the IC to me.. i guess to some this is they reality.. to me its my escape.. so i dont take it as serious and jus take it for what it is that day..
