Bruh, in order to have an album on par with Illmatic, ? , or Ready to Die you have t be able to rap. What this muthafucka said is basically analogous to saying, "I win on Iron Chef," but a muthafucka doesn't even know how to cook. These Millennials and their definition of what qualifies as a dope rapper is utterly amazing to me.

Again, thats you're opinion. I still don't know how someone who can't rap be one of the most sought after artist in the past decade? Y'all keep saying he can't rap, I suggested a song, no one came back with anything. That MC Hammer verse is one of his worst verses, but he made up for that on FreeBricks.

Lemonade is a trash dude. As far as that other song, I literally have better ? to do with my time, (like finding dope ass Ohmibod ? movies with pretty large breasted women,) than waste it on listening to a wack ass Gucci Mane song.

Do you. You callin somebody trash with jokes that cant even get off the runway...

I understand what Rakim is saying, he is right.

Gucci Mane has an old interview (on YouTube) saying how he aspired to be a poet, in school and all. He may not be setting out to be the best MC, but he does use poetry to express himself. He is not the first rapper to be bragadocious about his lifestyle, in fact, some of all of you alls top five DOA has a song about stuntin and flexin, its just delivered differently. Even Jigga had the line about ...if skills sold...So why does Gucci get the hate for doing the same thing? He put in his work, displayed his talent, he's a business, and businesses need money to run. Just because it looks, feels and sounds different doesn't mean that the criteria aren't being met. Hip hop is about the people, what goes on with the people. Gucci addresses those things, has proven to have just as much skills as your favorite rapper while doing it. He gets his respect from so many levels of people, but he wack tho...

If you lean more towards East Coast Rap or another region, Gucci probably isnt for you. You dont like southern rap, aint for you. Dont like the subject matter of stuntin and trappin, aint for you. Its all in what you want out your music. I think only idiots believe the Vin Staples hype, I've heard Summertime whatever the ? and it was terrible. But at least I gave it a shot. ? talkin about Gucci wack and have only heard Lemonade and Waisted.

    ? you talking about?

outkast luda juve Ti killer mike ceelo green isiah rashad scarface Krit etc . All of these southern rappers are dope. you know what's the difference between them and gwop? they know how to rap.

Pusha t spits dope dealing type ? , fab spits stuntin type ? . Don q spits that trap ? . your man is wack, plain and simple.

What can you be told to sway your opinion of what you think of Gucci Mane? There probably isn't anything that could be said. This has gone on for quite some time, I let it be known where I'm coming from, especially with you. Y'all just trying to puff your chest and let it be known what your emotions are. Okay. I have a different viewpoint, isn't that why we're here?

Seems like most the comments are being made without having really listened to Gucco's catalog. Making statements based on singles...

FOH. Like that ? was rapping any better on the album cut then he was on the singles.

    tenor.gif

You're proving my point. Anyone that has really listened to him, knows he's dope. You don't like him, okay, then its not for you. Just don't be surprised when someone refutes the negative. Give me the criteria of a dope MC and with the exception of a classic album, Gucci would check the boxes.

    Lyrical Ability - ? No

    Flow - Nope

    Subsistence/Content - Hell No

I don't think you need be a wordsmith to have a classic album. Master P (imo) got 3 Ice Cream man, Ghetto D, and Tha Last Don, and he an average MC at best. But he a ? lyrical genius compared to Gucci.

Uninformed opinion. I love P, but stop. Like I said, its easy to tell that you don't listen to him. Thats you. But I have a hard time respecting the opinion of a person saying Gucci is wack even though he actually puts in work as an artist, has a career that has lasted over a decade successfully (commercially and underground), writes his own raps, has the delivery, charisma, good beat selection and street cred oh and is top 5 most influential artist in Rap, PERIOD, but then reels of three ? Master P albums as classics. What the ? are you talking about???

You overating the ? out of a dude who drips wackness

How Sway? Look at rap music now, a trap artist is behind the way rap music is now. Who's the hottest producer right now? Gucci make a song with him? The ? put people like Mike Will, Zay and Metro on the map. Seems like a strong influence into the culture. It has widely been said that Gucci is probably the best A&R in the game and thats not even his job title...

Being influential to a bunch of dumb mother ? doesn't mean ? ...its like the blind leading the blind

Listen to his music...it lacks quality...its actually laughable at how terrible it is

Changing the face of a genre means a lot. Again thats how you feel.

Changing the face of a genre for the worse means a lot....it means there's a lot of retards running around

There are some talented decedents of Gucci. There is also a glut of artist that shouldn't be artists or successful that were influenced bu Gucci. But he cant control that.

    Name these talented artists

    Nikki Minaj,Migos most chi rappers,

The only thing that can sway my opinion is if he puts out quality music and in his career he has failed to do so....thats not the point of the post though

The thread is about is he a dope mc.....we've outlined his lack of lyrics, content, flow, and creavity......so far your responses are about him being influential and him being around for 10 years....nothing to do with his MC skills or even song making ability
