I was arguin today with 2 NY dudes and it was all fun n games so we start naming all the city LA and NYC started and the more we go on, the more you realize all that talk NYC ? make about how NY this NY that, we started this we was the first to do that is a lie. California and the south both started more ? than NYC.
The only thing NY done started was rap and adiddas

His argument still stands that New York is pretty much useless when it comes to Hip Hop...aside from the record labels that is.
It's hilarious how executives will overlook home grown artists from NY to get a southern or west coast artist. -

I co sign this post to the fullest. Its really true that LA fashion with the southern swag mixed with culture and traditions from both the west and the south is what makes up hip hop today. Lol even the slang aint no one on the street talkin about "whattup dunny" while wearing some timbs.
