not only will they be ill relevant in 5 years but chances are they will blow through all their money they might have gotten from being a young money bench warmer. long term savings reinvested with a promising career > temporary cash and hardly any fame out of it. Im a 21year old minority fresh outta college and already employed at a promising company despite the statistics because unlike gudda gudda/ jae millz / insert b list ymcoon artist here i actually worked my ass off instead of letting other ? control my fate. them ? couldn't even release an album in the next 6 months if they wanted to. -

The strategy was exposed a few months back when news outlets starting investigating the rise of Lana Del Ray. She was claiming to be just a "YouTube" star who became big, but was actually getting label backing the whole time.
There's been rumors that this is what was done with artists like Drake, ASAP Rocky, and Kendrick Lamar. -
