00s was really great! I lived in Japan for 2 years, better than any 90 era for me, all it was school.

I guess just like for me. Hopefully, this era will be great for me. I just turned 20 yesterday, so this had me thinking. Maybe this decade we can have a lot more innovating stuff. Don't get me wrong I respect the 90's and it's pop culture. I just want people to appreciate what we have now and we can still make it good.

Y'all don't have ? though. Best thing from the 2,000 is The Blueprint, Raven's winning their first ship, the Lakers 3-peating and the rise of the net -which kinda ? up your generation. Oh and the technology in general and of course PS2. Other than that boooooo.

90s were the last original decade. 2000+ has been a rehash ? for instance in OP, there's a movie based in the 70s, a re-release of a nike shoe, the third offering of a game from 1997,and some girl dressed as rainbow bright from the 80s. The only thing that really stands out is reality tv, social media, and napster. Maybe the damn motorola razr flip phone that everybody had and ? ..
Yeah, but we have original technology and video games. I would image how the East Coast Vs West Coast would be with Twitter and Facebook. Also, it would be cool to have something similar to that now. So, hip hop can really pop off again.

It's funny as original and new alot of technology is alot of things culturally and entertainment wise are reboots from past eras. So yeah there's more creativity in some areas as it should be as technology gets better, but in terms of new impacts on the culture outside of technology the 2000+ time period has been lacking. In some ways socially people have regressed

Also Lil Wayne, the new NFL rules, NBA refs cheating, letting white people call y'all ? /ers, skinny jeans, cyber bullying, getting knocked out on camera, the Wii, Justin Bieber, Young Thug, reality TV and bringing back fades/mohawks make the last decade look bad.

    This

I remember watching that movie "Kids" and those white kids were saying ? . It threw me off. Even remember people got on Jlo and Fat Joe for saying it.

Now it's free for all for Arabs like French montana and Khaled

The advancement of Internet technology, for me personally. One of the big pluses

However, like most old heads will attest to here, our music suffered. With the last decade came the might of the music single over the album and of course, excessive piracy on the net

You can make any era you live in worthwhile though if you just do YOU.. .

I was getting free porn in the 90s. I had Internet and road runner. But anime got better on the 2000s. We had some good rock and metal music. Even in the 00s there has been a lot of good underground metal music.

Overall, what was so got damn good about the 2000s?

The election fraud that made W the president and the worst presidency in 50 years
    9/11
    Enron
The Recession that technically hasn't ended yet
    Hurricane Katrina
Hip-Hop starting the fall-off of fall-offs with the ringtone rapper invasion
? News becoming a real media power in 'Murica
Survivor debuts just how ? reality TV in America can be (The Real World doesn't count), then the R-TV boom starts, and cable TV hasn't been decent since (as a whole)

Nothing new came along; ? just got upgraded, like the internet, and the the last three+ years of the '10s have triumphed that.

Outside of Obama getting elected, which was a monumental event in '08, ? the 2000s. (Graduating from HS and college during it was still pretty nice, tho.)

90s>>>2000s and this decade so far

    70s>>>>ALL.

Saying that the 2000s is good is like saying that Soulja Boy is top 5 DOA.

Hopefully, since we are in the early stages things can pop off. Like we can have good pop culture and good rappers will start to get mainstream. Plus, I see technology getting a lot better. Hopefully, television will change for the better too.

Yeah, but we have original technology and video games.

Can't really count tech. Every generation had their own. The 2020s generation with their amazon delivery drones will probably look back in disgust on 2000s tech. My video game experience in the 2000s-2010s revolved around avoiding this

smh @ having to buy 6 of them. and the funeral procession in that white box to the ups store and the guy behind the counter knowing exactly what was in the box from shipping them back to microsoft everyday all day. PS2 was cool though.

The great thing about the 2000 is the Chappelle show. The rise of technology is a good thing, it made things easier but made a lot of people lazier.

Cell phones was around but it was very very rare that I seen someone have one. Nowadays, a person will leave their cell phone at home by mistake & they act like they cannot survive without it.

I remember when you use to go to the mall (or anywhere period) with a pen & pad & ? to challenge each other on who going to get the most numbers. I'm talking actually walking up to a chick, starting a verbal conversation & shooting game to get her numbers. Now ? be on FB, Twitter & etc, clicking inboxes, typing with keyboards, simping & messing the game up.

As far as TV goes, especially Black TV, 90s embarreses the 2000s. Aint nothing has close to Martin or Fresh Prince.

Lil ? these days dont even have Black sitcoms to watch anymore. Smh.
