Yo Cham, why you didn't do a T&Y review?
-
Perfect tracks:
Black Beetles
Hazeus
Dope beats beats, ill flows and wordplay. What more can you ask for.
Almost perfect:
Belly of the Beast
Paper Trail$
No. 99
Run Up On Ya
Something from these track is missing like a second verse or something that kept them from getting a perfect score.
Very good:
Save The Children
Piece of Mind
Big Dusty
Christ Conscious
On & On
Some of these beats where a little lack luster or I didn't care for the hook but still on rotation
Pretty good:
Like Me
O.C.B.
Curry Chicken
Nice songs but I find myself skipping at times to get too the ones above
Ok songs:
Escape 120
I want to hate this track with Teach me but it was too damn catchy.
Complete wackness:
Teach Me
Burn this ? with fire, scatter the ashes and forget it ever happened.
Sitting right above To ? A Butterfly yet well below Tetsuo & Youth to me

Joey Bada$$ B4.Da.$$
I'll admit to not really looking forward to this album based on the stray tracks I heard previous to it's release but the album was refreshing, a resurrection of the old NY style, in the same vein as the Lost Boyz and a young Busta Rhymes. A notable as it is a deviation from the style and technique he displayed on his critically acclaimed 1999 mixtape. Showing maturity and a greater depth of concepts, this album is truly one of the best of the year.
Track listening/song score:
1) Save The Children 4/5
2) Greenbax (interlude) -N/A
3) Paper Trail$ 5/5
4) Piece of Mind 4/5
5) Big Dusty 5/5
6) Hazeus View 5/5
7) Like Me 4/5
8) Belly of The Beast 5/5
9) No. 99 4/5
10) Christ Consciousness 5/5
11) On & On 4/5
12) Escape 20 0/5
13) Black Beetles 5/5
14) OCB 4/5
15) Curry Chicken 4/5
16) Run Up On Ya 0/5
17) Teach Me 0/5
The album boasts a throwback vibe and wisdom beyond it's author's age, truly one of the best albums of the last few years.Score tally:
14 (good-great tracks)/16 (total number of tracks scored) =
87.5 +
6 (5 star bonus/extra credit)
= 93

Wale The Album About Nothing
After years of being postponed the album Wale promised, a project inspired by the classic TV show Seinfeld featuring the comedian Jerry Seinfeld himself was delivered. Sadly, it fails to measure up not only to the hype but to the concepts laid out in the previous Nothing mixtapes. The Seinfeld lead ins/exists are somewhat effective in explaining what the song is attempting to convey but the songs themselves just lack a certain punch for the most part.
The album just begins to feel flat even though some of the concepts are dope. I do appreciate that the album have no other rappers on it but overall I know wale can do better.
Of the standout tracks my favorite has become The Need To Know, it's just a dope sample, SZA kills the hook, the Seinfeld clip matches perfectly and Wale is well within his element.
Track listing/score
1) The Intro About Nothing 4/5
2) The Helium Balloon 4/5
3) The White Shoes 4/5
4) The Pessimist 5/5
5) The Middle Finger 0/5
6) The One Time In Houston 0/5
7) The Girls On Drugs 5/5
8) The ? Smile 4/5
9) The Need To Know 5/5
10) The Success 4/5
11) The Glass Egg 4/5
12) The Bloom 0/5
13) The Matrimony 4/5

Song scores aren't factored in. It's just telling you which songs I liked and which I didn't.
It's the number of good songs divided by the total number of songs scored.
An album would really have to be worse than wale's to really earn a 5 and at that point I probably wouldn't have bothered reviewing it. -

Wale-The Album About Nothing
with this album i kinda got a vibe that he was tryna force himself to be viewed at the top, when that came natural with his second(and my favorite of his) album Ambition. The Production was solid throughout but nothing too much stood out imo. Lyrically it was solid as well but not as many gems as i expected. It's pretty much an alright album. The first few tracks are interesting but not quite to the point where id replay em again except maybe white shoes and the pessimist. And then we get to the one night in houston and the girls on drugs, based on other reviews i expected these to be on point, at least melodically but the houston track started off wrong imo as soon as he started singing in a screwed voice, and girls on drugs was just aight, expected a more melodic sample/beat. ill say if there is a stand out, the need to know is one of those songs, great hook interpolation, dope song. prolly coulda been a hit single. the next couple tracks are cool, the bloom stands out a lil there. i also think the matrimony is dope and could have been a single and the body is a cool single, i might not go out my way to play it but if it comes on i wouldnt turn it. But overall i feel like wale needed and could have came harder musically with this. he wants to force himself to be mentioned with kendrick, cole, and drake but imo this dont do it. but hey nothing wrong with musically being in the next best tier with guys like sean or b.o.b.

My problem is you really don't take anything from listening to the album.. at least I don't. At the end of a listen it's just like... "oh aight" .... nothing is fantastic about it. Most of everything is just good.. there's some great.. and some bad. But nothing special.
-
Already deleted it off my phone
