^ Cool.
Damn so many people with opinions on these 2 artists and so little people dropping reviews? Probably showing that too many posters are sharing opinions on ? they aren't actually listening to. -

mybad on the late Review @KillaCham
Soul Food Review
I thought Soul Food was a dope track although I was expecting a little more out of the Raphael Saadiq collab. I think the biggest draw back for me is the hook. I think Raphael could've sang the hook it a different way or just better. The track comes right after a funny skit that is intended to set the tone for Soul Food. Krit's at his best when he's being introspective and Soul Food doesnt disappoint on that end. Unless your an orphan or grew up in a cave everyone knows whats its like to be at a family get together or a normal Sunday dinner. Soul Food should be relatable to everyone who listens because who hasn't shared those times and memories with their family? This song reminded me of my family and how things used to be when I was younger, I believe that was the point of the song.
**favorite line/verse**
"Now before Sunday school, I hustle and I'm on it
I can't slow down, nah, a dollar and a dream
In this life you live, you're either the dealer or the fiend
Leanin' horizontal
The acrobats on the corner, they flip
So when them white vans pull up, shawty, we dip
Out of view, could've been a track star at the school
But it took the police just to get that .44 out of you
Dash, sprint, hurdle, over those steel gates
They keep us in and keep folk out but we don't feel safe
As we used to back when we was in a booster
Watchin' our uncles drink coolers, talkin' pound-for-pound bruisers
Over rib bones"
4/5 rating. -

Hmm I'm curious to see what'd get better reviews between those 2 releases. I'm thinking Joey.

They were $9.99 for Lupe and $7.99 for Joey. Came to $19.06 after tax -
Tetsuo & Youth is 4.5 Mics and I might upgrade to classic status if I'm bumping 3 months from now
B4 DA $$ is a solid 4 mics but his lyricism is just not classic Blackmoon, Heltah Skeltah, OGC level. -
I feel like people will be more critical with Lupe though and he'll get more hate. I been so busy I haven't had time to listen to either in full. Hopefully I can drop a review or 2 myself soon.
-
you cant take any review of that lupe album serious after its only been out less than a week ... especially with the depth of that project
-
I'll give a review for the Joey album sometime today.
-
Joey BadA$$ is one of my favorite new school artists. I feel like he makes hip hop the way it should be made, dope lyrics over dope beats. If you're a fan of dope lyrics and dope beats then you will love this album. There are no strip club songs on here, no songs about tricking on hoes, none of this hipster weirdo music. I went into this album cautiously optimistic I felt his previous 2 mixtapes were kind of meh. But I was very impressed, Joey showed growth as far as his subject matter, broadening his wordplay/vocabulary, all while speaking on social issues from the perspective of a 20 year old. The standout tracks are Big Dusty, Save The Children and my favorite song Run Up On Ya.
My least favorite song is Teach Me.
Letter grade A
-
I'm bumping both albums on shuffle and they compliment each other very well. I started my process of eliminating weak songs and the only tracks that got cut where Teach Me from Joey and Chopper from Lupe because it's just too damn long. The stand out feature is Ab Soul on Tron. He should let Lupe executive produce his next project.

havent bought a hiphop album in a loooooong mfn time
gonna buy lupe tho, and might even buy b4da$$ for the fucc of it -
Listened to Bada$$ front to back for the first time. I think I'm gonna do one for his. I haven't done a review since like 2011, a thug is rusty.
