Not to get off topic, but I'm pretty sure that All Eyez On Me was the first double rap album by a solo artist. The reason I say solo artist is because No Limit's Down South Hustlers compilation (which was a double-disc) came out before All Eyez On Me.

I like songs that can stand the test of time and songs that actually touch people.

Some people are unaware that many of Tupacs songs are studied and dissected in academia....esteemed institutions have actual credit courses were his songs are the core of the curriculum.

In addition to that the United States Library of Congress preserved the recoding "Dear Mama" for its cultural significance.

Sure its cool to have songs that people can shake their ass to, or count multi's to but when its all said and done the most important thing is the effect that your song has on the people.

i dont care how many sylabols a rapper rhymes,
simple- and heart felt over complex and over the head rhyming flat out

real rap come from the heart
no body care about how many words you can rhyme in a bar that ? dont matter if you cant get your point across

Word. Simply said, ? rhyme schemes. You need to have substance and if not that, then energy, charisma and mic presence.

if you don't think Tupac was a great lyricist you just don't understand hip hop.

"they say the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice
i say the darker the flesh the deeper the roots"

those 2 lines are better than most ? you hear even today.

Don't get me wrong. I really like 2pac, but is he in my top 20 even? No he is not. You can go back into those old forums that were being shared around the IC a few months back and see that even when he was alive very few people called him the best, or even respected him. The reason he is over hyped so much now is because of his death, the theories, and conspiracy's surrounding it. Yeah he had a lot of songs that you could "feel".. But he had a lot of wack ? also. And as far as making a bigger impact than Jay??? Hell no. Maybe had he lived a long life, but the only true impact he had was his death. And even that impact was shared with Biggie. Jay has made more of an impact than anyone in the game, besides maybe Dr. Dre or Eminem.... And no hate on the spelling errors, but they were not errors from typing fast. They were just you don't know how to spell. And it takes away from any points you are trying to make.

every rapper still speaks on pac, saying how he made em' go harder, how he motivated them, pac is lyrical... just not in the sense of multis, rhyme schemes, but in an actual poetry sense, were rap originally was based off
jay had no type of impact like pac did, be real... you all on his ? but what has jay did... yea he's top 10 dead or alive but he never spoke for the people, jay was teh rapper that was always in the same lane... when i was selling cane days...
he wasnt even as diverse as pac...
and my spelling had nothing to do with me not knowing how to spell
this is the dam internet.. teh only real stupid error was write.. i ment to type right in but obviously my post was about what rappers write... but anyways other then that ? im a be honest i love rappers that hit with multi's.. rhyme schemes and metaphors but that aint what makes a lyracist...and thats the truth...
