Never understood why Urkel was so in love with her average looking ass.
This was a EXTRAORDINARILY BAD casting decision, why would you have a that without question was a point higher than Laura, playing the chick that wanted Steve. ? makes no sense because the casting directors should have realized that John Doe Viewer, (especially those in the target demo for that show,) would have been like why is Urkel ignoring the bad big tittie chick to chase behind a broad that didn't want him. Hell, even Laura's real sister (who also played on the show,) was >>>> Laura.
Urkel was supposed to play the occasional cameo, not take over the show. I truly believe the girl who played Laura was only cast after they had the actress who played the mother was cast because they look alike (same complexion, smile, and juicy lips). I don't think they had the intentions of hiring her for the sole purpose of having a basic looking chick as the love interest of a cameo performer.
And the way writers write these shows, there could have been some sort of undertone where Urkel was hitting Myra but still wanting Laura for the challenge. Myra might have been too easy for him and he allowed her to chase him, while he was chasing Laura without regret. Character-wise, if these characters were real people, he was chasing after the closest thing that posed a challenge, knowing she had a future ahead of her as a decent person, instead of the chick that was P-popping for any n!gga just because, and calling it love. Yes, he'd be knocking the easy chick down just to do it, while he worked on the one he really wanted; and as long as the chick don't turn ? , all is well.
Urkel's character knew what he was doing, always displaying how genius he was, but wanting Laura to see through the cover. He saw something in her he wanted, and was willing to wait until she saw past his exterior. Myra saw Urkel for everything that he was, and didn't care about his geeky personality and that he lusted after another girl. That could have been a turn off to him because he can just disrespect her whenever, or that she lacked something that he he wanted, whatever that was, and he knew that she would never be what he was looking for in a girl. Either she was too easy or she lacked some sort of intellect that he knew Laura had.

Family Matters Character Outcomes:
Laura Winslow - Went on to marry a Marine named Carl and had 2 more children (1 boy and a girl). Secretly wishes that she acted right in her younger days in regards to Urkel. Her second born son name is Steve and her husband discovers that his son is not his and that Laura hooked up with Urkel, spawning his love child. Carl the Marine beats Laura on a regular basis due to Laura cheating on him, he's jealous of her ? for Urkel, and that he suffers from PTSD. Laura is afraid of Carl and takes the abuse on a regular basis because she feels she deserves it for not making the right choices in man; and that's the life she lives for here on out.

Carl walked in on Laura fingerbanging herself to an issue of Popular Mechanics, and when he snatched it out her hand and looked at the cover it was Steve posing with a basketball that transforms into an F-16.
Laura runs out the room butt naked and grabs the keys off the kitchen counter, Carl in hot pursuit waving the first weapon he could find, her hot iron she accidentally left on. Carl is slashing at her with the hot iron and its cutting through couch plastic and government cheese like a lightsaber but he's missing her since his balance is off from the peg leg he has after getting it blown off in the war. Laura runs to her car and gets in, swatting out loose cheetohs on top of permanent tear stains and starts the car. While Carl stumbles to his mountain bike, she dips off and drives onto the freeway with her foot mashing the gas to the floor and pushing her '93 Honda to its maximum speed.
Carl catches right up, and starts waving at the drivers side window with the still hot flat iron. He uses the heat to carve a message into the glass. It reads "you gon learn today" but he's a dumb ? and forgets to write it backwards so she can't understand what the ? it says.
Laura fumbles for her phone and panics when she realizes she's butt naked and didn't have anywhere to put it when she ran out. She remembers she keeps a spare tracfone in her weave and takes it out to dial 911, but it gets no service. Since she's a ? she can't resist the urge to check her text messages anyway, and while she's looking at her screen a semi-truck driven by an IC ? recognizes her from Family Matters and swerves into her lane trying to smash her car. She looks up just in time and swerves away, busting through the guard railing and flipping her car down a 2 mile hill. When she finally lands at the bottom a pack of wolves starts eating her but stops when a loud screeching sound comes from overhead. Its one of Steve's defective F-16 basketballs that malfunctioned when the nerd flying it tried to hook up his xbox. It crashes down and explodes, killing Laura and the wolves. Carl arrives then takes a shovel and starts digging a deep grave ditch. He buries the wolves and leaves. -

she might come to the house with the promise to meet moms, but she misses her EVERY time; then you still run up in. You see, Laura's character is a hold over until something better comes along. It's like leasing a bucket until that S-Class comes on the market.
i've seen plenty chicks like Laura, always chasing and falling for the wrong type of guy; end up pregnant, or messed up in the head over the guy who didn't want them; then their entire personality changes for the worse. -
