I don't really care about speed

    But quickness is different.

And LBJ got about 40 pounds on Kobe and their quickness is the same even prime Kobe.

Kobe have more post move getting a shot off falling away from the goal

LBJ has more post moves going towards the basket.

    Kobe has better handles

    LBJ has better ball security.

    Dunking. LBJ

    Battling on the boards. LBJ.

Vision. LBJ. He turn scrubs into playmakers.

not sure why people actin like kobe a pure shooter compared to lebron, but at the same time, his shooting ability is slightly better, its just looks bad cuz he takes and sometimes makes ? ass shots hence the term ? ball. ill also say kobe post skills>> so therefore as a scorer ill give kobe the edge. but dunking(cant believe this is even in question) passing/making others better, rebounding, defense goes to lebron. lebron(and then durant) passed up kobe a couple years ago imo in terms of current best players, if he's fortunate enough to win more rings that will only solidify that when it comes to all time. idk how anyone can objectively look at lebrons all around game and not say at least right now lebron is better.

I have yet to see any player making someone esle better! So a player is going to make someone run faster, jump higher, shoot better? /are they're genes going to all of a sudden become better because someone of than they parents? I mean i really dont know how coin that phrase.

a lot of yall done forgot. but kobe's defense when he wasn't old as hell is being heavily slept on
i ain't going to post no videos but smh

and technically no you can't make anyone "better"
only thing you can do is give them a better opportunity to score
but yes Lebron does that quite well

This is like the Lebron vs Durant argument, what does Kobe/Durant do better other than just a pure shooter and that's still ? debatable considering Lebron shoots a better FG percentage than both. Don't say no stupid ? about Lebron only dunking either.

Lebron is a better passer, scorer (career ppg avg), rebounder, etc. Defensively who the ? has Kobe ever locked down, Ron Artest, Ron Harper, etc always guarded the other teams best perimeter players on his team and then he had Shaq, Bynum, and Gasol behind him.

Ppl say he's shoots better the LBJ.

    Them shooting numbers don't lie.

Magic shot a higher FG% than Bird but it's clear as ? Bird is the better shooter same thing with Kobe and Lbj... Only thing lebron has on Kobe is Defense and only by a lil bit b/c he plays transition D better....

What about that 3 point %

I bet Kobe takes more 3pt attempts in 5 games than lbj does in 10, he should have a slightly higher %

So he's a smarter player that's not just chucking up threes instead he's taking higher % shots.

    Cool.

Yea LBJ is the better player.

You do know Kobes job is to shoot and score right?? You can't call a player a chucker for doing what he's suppose to do which is score and put pressure on the D (nh) but whatever dude

But LBJ averages more points then him.

    Including playoffs.

And LBJ is far from a chucker.

Kobe is one of the all time greats bruh.

    But not ahead of LBJ.

Now you're acting like you don't know nothing about ball..

Besides the fact that Lebron's career is nearly 7 seasons shorter Kobe started off his career behind a very good Eddie Jones then when he stated to break out he was still playing with a Prime Shaq, of course his scoring averages would take a hit,
but despite all of that he's still top 4 (soon 3) all time in scoring... But go ahead and go by the stats (though true yet misleading) b/c it's obvious u jus started watching ball in 2010 when u heard a guy named lebron went to the Heat

Kobe was coming off the bench his first two years, so I'll give you that, but how did Shaq affect Kobe's scoring? Kobe's a guard and Shaq's a center. They're not even remotely close to the same position. Aint like anybody else on that team took away from Kobe's attempts, except maybe Glen Rice for that 1st ring.

Lebron playing the last 4 years with Wade has had more of an impact on his game than Kobe playing with Shaq and yet he's still putting up nearly the same numbers.

And for all the criticism Lebron gets as a shooter, he still shoots a slightly higher 3-pt percentage than Kobe.

Outside of mid range game and FT shooting, Lebron is a just as good or better as a scorer than Kobe in every aspect.

They both average four 3-pt attempts per game.

How has Lebron playing with Wade have more of a impact on his scoring when later you say he puts up the same numbers?? If anything it had a impact on Wade not Lebron... And do i really have to explain why playing with a Prime Shaq (with the Center position basically dead) and under the triangle offense would have an affect on someone's scoring??

Im talking about Wade and Lebron playing similar positions. Wade had to sacrifice more, but Lebron still takes a back seat to Wade from time to time yet he puts up similar numbers cause his FG% went up.

And Kobe has never had to share the ball with a perimeter player that demands a high volume of shot attempts like Wade.

of course it hurt his numbers. stop it.

you'd have to be criminally insane to not have ran the offense through a prime Shaq

Outside of Shaq, who did Kobe have to share the ball with from 99 to 07? Derek Fisher? He never even averaged 10 attempts as a Laker.

Kobe was averaging 21.9 attempts with Shaq from 00-01 to 02-03

In his first 3 years without Shaq before Pau came along, he averaged 23.5 attempts

I just dont see a huge difference.

And while Kobe had to share with Shaq, it also gave him better shot opportunities cause the defense's primary focus was Shaq.

In order to answer this: First you have to quantify the term skill and be specific about what you define as an skill then use the appropriate statistics to measure the skills that require it.

Personally, these are skills: Ball-handling is a skill, Passing is a skill, Footwork/Pivot moves in the post are a skill, Pro-Hops, Jump-Stops, Euro-steps and any movement designed to evade a defender while changing pace is a skill, ability to adjust your shot in mid-air and use body control without getting blocked is a skill(MJ was the GOAT in that), rebounding is a skill, setting picks during PnR is a skill, shooting is a skill, stealing the ball is a skill, blocking shots and showing defensive timing is a skill.

Skills are something you can teach but require a Basketball IQ to master and apply in the game. Some people naturally have elite skills soon as they enter the league like #1 picks John Wall and Kyrie Irving's ability to finish and use jump stops, pro-hops, spin-moves and euro-steps on a fastbreak during their rookie years. Some people develop elite skills like Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin, Al Jefferson and Anthony Davis eventually.

If you take the time to evaluate both Lebron and Kobe in all facets of the game, Lebron has more skills as an overall basketball player. Kobe's aggressive approach and offensive skill-set(that relies on fade-aways, jab-steps and deft pivot moves off post ups unlike Lebron's) makes him harder to contain one on one and much flashier so people assume he's more skilled overall. Kobe is simply the more offensively aggressive, confident and fundamentally sound scorer. People don't bring other facets of the game up when they compare the two and are amazed by a flashy skill-set rather than a well-rounded, practical, relatively mistake free skill-set.

That line of thinking has influenced street ? forever, I bet every ? reading this knows a ton of dudes who can dribble and do all the moves to create space and shot attempts, but can't shoot nor pass to save his life. Those same cats probably can get to the rim a lot and think they're nice.

    Ehh I refuse to debate.
Seem like people all have their idea of what skill is.

Lebron being physically opposing isn't a skill.

His consistency is what makes him great though. The fact that he will give you damn near 30 6 and 6 every night on 50%+ is astounding.
    This

He's the only dude who can put up a 30 pt triple double and nobody notices. ? comes effortlessly to him.

Maybe today, but there a couple of people in the NBA who existed (Barkley and Oscar) who did it also. Stop acting like Lebron is doing stuff never done. He ain't. He's great. He's doing stuff rarely ever done, but not never done

Both great. Both have rings. Kobe reached greatness early in his career, labron reached it later in his but both reached it. Who is greater is like two billionaires debating who is wealthier. I've got 51.5 Billion and you have 51.2 Billion.
