This will be the first Horror film im hyped about in a long ass time.
This is the first Remake i've ever been hyped about lol. -
I feel sorry for all the clown phobia folks.

-
Wasn't as scary as I was expecting, but I'm still hyped as ? . Hoping they just left the most terrifying parts for the movie. -

So hyped for this movie.

Rumor is King wrote a bunch of those novels high on coke.
He wouldn't be the first writer/poet -
something that was brought to my attention that i thought was pretty cool
it may have been mentioned already but i didnt see/remember it
in the novel pennywise returns every 27 years to terrorize the town
the miniseries aired in 1990
i think they are banking on the 80s nostalgia and even moved the timeline of the losers club as kids from the late 50s to the 80s to draw the attraction of the majority of the stephen king audience that grew up with his books and were 80s kids themselves -- it allows the story to move into the present by letting the adult versions of those kids be in the ‘now’ with the cycle being 27 years and putting it pretty much current day — though it looks like those kids are early to mid 80s and not late 80s/90s so it doesnt completely line up but still pretty close -
but i do like the style/tone that theyre setting
the trailer hints at there being a solid treatment of the town as a character
a place where a sense of community never really developed because everyones survival strategy is to just watch out for themselves and its been that way for so long that its become the local culture — the image of the family in the car driving past and pretending not to see henrys ? assault on ben probably sold the ticket for me
thats an essential component of the book thats been missing from the marketing up until now
im psyched that they appear to have nailed it
i will be in the theater opening night for this (i wouldve regardless lol)his final form is
A DAMN DISAPPOINTMENT
seriously i think part two will have done a good deed if they actually attempt to top pennywise the clown with something that has nothing to do with the book -

I guess these cats don't know King lol
The Shining is infamous for being about his personal bouts with alcoholism and drug addiction.

I know I've said this before on here (hell maybe even in this thread) but I think it's Cujo he said he has no recollection of writing. -

? this movie already is surpassing all expectations I had for it. Especially the dude and look they went for with pennywise. Thought it looked kind of corny when they released the image, but seeing the guy act him out in the trailer has given me a lot of faith in this movie. -
pennywise looks scary as hell but the voice still needs to win me over
creepy sure
but i also remember curry pennywise because he had personality not because of how scary he sounded because he didnt (to me) he was no freddy kreuger with the quips but the guy loved torturing these kids verbally and physically
if they can convey some type of real personality for this version
we might have a horror villain for the ages -

i think itd be cool if they get a big name cast for the adults
heres the kids pick their 'adult' selves -
Those kids r smart
-
Those kids should become casting directors.
-
i think im most interested in seeing the losers club aspect on film
i could watch an entire flick of just the kids being kids
forming their friendships and dealing with the bullies (including abusive adults)
these trailers have been very effective in conveying the right tone and piling on some of that nostalgia
horror movies are the only movies i really like seeing in theaters
audience reactions are hilarious -
I wonder if they are gonna include all the extra ? with Henry Bowers from the book. The original TV series didnt feature everything that happened with him and the kids.
-
it will also be interesting to see how the second part of the movie would work because the adult portion is pretty thin and basically serves to create a lot of the flashbacks
theres almost 3 full stories going on at once
1. the kids vs. IT
2. the losers club
3. the adult portion
then there are the historical flashbacks
pennywise in action in the
1880s
1900s
1920s
etc
point being there is a lot of material for two flicks if done right
king can be wordy but theres not a lot of filler
its all interesting -
